Voting will open shortly afterwards and will close on Sunday December 6th.

The Awards Evening will be held on Saturday December 12th, and the awards themselves will be presented during an extremely special edition of the Eggnog and Stu show on UKNova Radio. They'll also be simultaneously revealed on the forums for those that prefer quiet reflection to radio madness.

1. Sports Torrents

All torrents in the 'Sports' category are now free of any 'wait time' due to low ratio/account age/data transfer totals. It was thought a little unfair to ask people to avoid the sports results longer than they have to in order to avoid spoiling the outcome. In return though, we expect people not to 'hit&run' on those (or any other !) torrents. Bittorrent is all about sharing, so please leave downloaded material to seed back so that others can get to see it that bit quicker too. Any member who continually immediately disconnects from a torrent once it has downloaded will face sanctions.

2. Forum Threads Tooltips
If you hover your mouse cursor over the title of a forum thread, you will now see the opening words of the first post in the thread, so you can get an idea what the thread is about. Neat huh?

Downloading programmes using the RSS feed no longer counts towards the “you must log in every 42 days” rule. To keep your account from expiry, you'll need to log in to uknova.com at least that often. This shouldn't be too difficult really; in any case, had you neglected to visit the site for that long, you'd risk never seeing any private messages sent to you, or missing announcements. (The amount of time a PM is kept has also been extended to 42 days to match.)

However, if you've made it to Power User, you'll now get a ‘grace period’ of several days after the 42-day limit. If you log in during this period your account will avoid expiry (and the site will tell you off ). This is a new benefit for Power Users. The old benefit, of being able to search the forums for posts by a particular user (and having the ‘My posts’ link on the ‘Forums’ drop-down and your profile page) is now open to everyone.
